Cockeysville, MD – October 7, 2024 – The Board of Trustees of Broadmead, Inc. has named Jay D. Prince as the next President and CEO.

In a letter to the Broadmead community on behalf of the search committee and the Board of Trustees, Clerk of the Board, Kerensa Zimmerman announced the appointment of Jay D. Prince as Broadmead’s new President and CEO.

Jay Prince Prince comes to Broadmead from Michigan where he has served in senior living leadership for over twenty years. Most recently, he held the position of Senior Vice President of Community Operations for Covenant Living Communities and Services, one of the largest non-profit senior living providers in the nation. Prior to that, Prince served for ten years as President and CEO of the Heritage Community of Kalamazoo. During that time, he also served as the CEO of Connected LLC, a joint-venture company that provides customized smart home technology to the senior living industry.

During his tenure, Heritage Community became recognized as the region’s premier provider of senior living services with a focus on a culture of person-centered care. In 2022, Prince opened The Memory Care Learning Center, a first-of-its-kind Alzheimer’s disease education and research center, and Ridge Creek, a state-of-the-art technologically advanced independent living community in which all resident homes featured smart home automation.

“Jay’s focus has been on creating positive change and innovation in the senior living industry,” said Kerry Zimmerman. “In him, we are confident that Broadmead has found a dedicated, experienced, and visionary leader who will guide Broadmead forward.”

Prince has worked with for-profit and nonprofit organizations, single and multi-site senior living communities, home health, affordable housing, hospice, and professional management businesses and is pleased to be joining Broadmead. “Broadmead is an established and known leader in senior living. Its programs and initiatives are at the forefront of industry standards. I am excited to lead the next chapter for this vibrant community,” says Prince.

Prince holds a degree in Healthcare Management from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota, and certifications in long-term care and hospital administration. He has served as board chair of LeadingAge Michigan and Senior Care Resources and as board secretary and chair of policy at the Consumer Credit Union of Michigan.

Established in 1979, Broadmead (broadmead.org) is a Quaker Life Plan community with a long history of serving seniors in the Baltimore region. The sprawling 94-acre campus offers a full continuum of living options to include independent living, assisted living, memory support, skilled nursing, and dementia care support services.
