Tim Williams Named Employee of the Year

By Ann Hunter

Congratulations to Tim Williams, Broadmead's 2021 Employee of the Year!

As Broadmead’s Employee of the Year, Tim was awarded $1,000, a one-of-a-kind polo shirt, flowers, a goody bag, a trophy, and a banner. Tim says he is overwhelmed by the honor because “I don’t expect to be acknowledged for what I do. I enjoy my work and strive to do my best every day. I just want to make everyone happy—employees and residents.” He says that he is very comfortable at Broadmead and would like to work here forever.

Tim’s employment history began when he was 15 years old. His cousin’s girlfriend, a Broadmead employee, suggested that he apply to be a waiter in the Holly Terrace. Brenda Copenhaver was delighted to have a young man on her waitstaff. Stints in utility and in the Arbor Café followed and, in 2018, he was offered his present full-time position of Housekeeping Coordinator.

During his tenure at Broadmead, Tim graduated from Reach Partnership High School (Lake Clifton) and attended the Community College of Baltimore County on a Boynton scholarship. Tim and his fiancée, Sha’nya, who works in Dining Services at Broadmead, live in Lutherville. Tim has five younger brothers, ages 7 to 23, and is trying to be a good role model. He loves video games, cartoons (he considers the old ones the best), and music. He would like to learn to play guitar or piano and take voice lessons.

Tim was chosen January’s Employee of the Month by a committee of employees. The year’s twelve honorees were then submitted to the administration’s Executive Leadership Team, which chose the winner.
