Preventative and Comprehensive – when you need us, we’re here. That’s the concept upon which Broadmead’s health and wellness program is built.
Broadmead features a full-service medical center and continuum of care for the ultimate peace of mind.* Physicians are on-call 24 hours a day. Additionally, we have Registered Nurses and/or Licensed Practical Nurses on duty at all hours.
Taylor Assisted Living, rehabilitative services and Hallowell Comprehensive Care Center are all available right here at Broadmead should the need arise. Keeping you healthy is our goal. Our Wellness Program is designed to keep you active, which includes helping you get back on your feet after an illness or accident.
*To take advantage of healthcare from Broadmead, you must have Medicare Parts A and B, as well as a prescription and supplemental insurance plan that meets certain requirements. Please refer to the Residence and Care Agreement for further details.
Directed by professional staff, the Wellness Program is the first step in maintaining long-term health. The staff facilitates activities and helps residents develop individual fitness programs designed to meet their specific goals. It works in tandem with our rehabilitation therapy programs to provide balanced fitness programs for all.
In addition, the indoor saltwater swimming pool, fully-equipped fitness room, walking trails, an array of exercise classes and community activities keep Broadmead residents young at heart.
Medical services available:
Broadmead and Johns Hopkins HealthCare, LLC, have reached an agreement to develop, with Johns Hopkins physicians and scientists, centers of excellence in two critical areas of aging services: dementia care, and health and wellness. The creation of these centers of excellence is a natural extension of the excellence of care Broadmead has provided for the past 36 years.
For the dementia care center of excellence, the team will develop a program that combines current best practices in dementia care with forward-thinking approaches and evidence-based research. Broadmead’s second center of excellence initiative, in health and wellness, will investigate a variety of dimensions of wellness, including physical, intellectual, social, vocational, spiritual, environmental and emotional, to develop a signature, evidenced-based program that promotes healthy aging, maximizes residents’ independence, and minimizes the effects of disease.
