Broadmead assistant executive chef, Jerrell Fleming, was recently promoted to Executive Chef, the position vacated by Dan Hall's appointment as Director of Dining & Hospitality. A veteran chef with over a dozen years of experience at Broadmead, Jerrell comes to the position with considerable knowledge of and familiarity with the needs of food service at Broadmead, its staff, and the residents. Although administrative responsibilities will take up much of his time, he hopes and plans to spend as much time as possible on his first love: cooking.
Beginning at Broadmead in 2006 as a hot cook, Jerrell completed a bachelor's degree at Morgan State University in finance two years later. He then obtained a certificate in culinary arts from the Baltimore Culinary Institute, supported by a Broadmead grant. Jerrell and his companion, Whittney, have a son and two daughters. Two of his brothers are also employed at Broadmead, Allen Fleming (security) and Shawn Evans (housekeeping).
