Southwestern Virginia native Colleen Hurt is a friendly woman who enjoys meeting new people and getting to know them. She has found Broadmead welcoming and looks forward to participating in activities here, including exercise and Tai Chi.
Colleen attended nursing school at the University of Virginia where she met her future husband, Chuck, who was a medical student there. They came to Baltimore where he did a residency at the University of Maryland and she was a nurse at Union Memorial. Chuck became a professor of anesthesiology at Johns Hopkins by which time they had moved to Harford County to raise their son and daughter.
After retiring, they moved to Rehoboth Beach where they lived for 25 years. The house there is still in the family for their children and grandchildren to use. Colleen enjoys gardening, but will need to retrieve the tools she left at the house in Delaware.
