Broadmead Residents Go to Annapolis with MaCCRA

by Kathleen Truelove

On a rainy February day, 12 Broadmead residents braved the elements to trek to Annapolis to join residents of other Maryland retirement communities at the House Office Building to hear from legislators.

Both of our District 42B delegates, Michele Guyton and Nino Mangione, and our District 42 state senator, Chris West, came to meet and greet and say a few words. Senator West spoke about a bill he is sponsoring to have solar panels put on school roofs during construction. Delegate Guyton supports HB142, to create express lines for handicapped voters.

MaCCRA, the Maryland Continuing Care Residents' Association, is the only organization dedicated solely to protecting and advancing the interests of residents of continuing care retirement communities (CCRCs). It supports, empowers, and betters the lives of residents in Maryland's CCRCs through advocacy and education.
