Working With a Diverse Team

We believe that employees are our greatest asset, and value the diverse identities, backgrounds, ideas, and interests of our workforce. To attract and retain a diverse team, Broadmead is committed to infusing diversity, equity, and inclusion in every aspect of our organization, from the top down. In fall 2020, Broadmead was recognized as a CHRA Excellence in Diversity Award winner for exemplifying an attitude and environment of acceptance and inclusion.

Broadmead Staff

Broadmead continues to look for partners with organizations that support prospective employees with disabilities, Asian Americans, disenfranchised people and people in need of assistance. Our recent partnerships include: The League, The ARC, Celeebrate Us and the Asian American Health Initiative. We have also developed partnerships with career centers at local HBCUs, Historically Black Colleges and Universities.

New employees are introduced to Broadmead's diversity and inclusion efforts during the new employee orientation diversity session. Further training opportunities include learning about what to say in the face of stereotypes through Ouch! That Stereotype Hurts, unconscious bias through BiasSync, leadership diversity training and baseline assessment through the Intercultural Development Inventory.

The Diversity and Inclusion Work Group (DIWG), made up of Board members, staff, and residents was formed in 2015, and is leading the Diversity Strategic Plan goals and implementation. This past year, there has been increased effort to include additional staff voices to the DIWG.
