COVID-19 Response

Click here to read a message from Broadmead’s President and CEO, Robin Somers.

We know many of you are concerned about the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) and how it may impact us here at Broadmead. Ensuring residents are cared for in a safe and healthy environment is our first priority.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have recommended a variety of steps that we are implementing to help reduce the potential for the virus to spread within our community. As the COVID-19 situation continues to evolve, Broadmead is diligently meeting and/or exceeding CDC recommendations, and Broadmead’s Internal Response Team is in close contact with our local and state health departments, and continues to follow their guidance.

Broadmead is taking all necessary precautions to protect our residents and employees, and has implemented the following measures:

  • Educating our employees and residents on the CDC guidelines regarding COVID-19 prevention.
  • Restricting campus visitations with the exception of limited visits by approved medical professionals or family members. All approved visitors entering the Community Center must be screened for symptoms prior to entry.
  • Monitoring residents and employees for any illness or related symptoms.
  • Increased frequency of cleaning/disinfection of common areas.
  • All employees and residents entering the Community Center must be screened for symptoms prior to entry.
  • Monitoring travel of residents and employees and implementing mandatory isolation as appropriate.
  • Home delivery of meals to all independent living residents. All dining venues are closed for seating.
  • Postponed group events and social outings, and suspended events and meetings held on campus by outside groups.
  • Suspended campus shuttle transportation except for runs to light rail for employee pickup and approved medical appointments off campus.

Broadmead continues to closely monitor the global outbreak of the coronavirus (COVID-19). Residents and families can be assured that we are committed to keeping everyone informed on the latest developments. In an effort to not overwhelm everyone with repeat information, updates will not be issued if there is nothing new to report. Updates will continue to be distributed as new information is received.
